32. 16. 8. And now, four. That's right, just four teams remain in Inno Madness — and voting is now underway for you to select which two will duke it out in next week's finals.
In round three, we said goodbye to some early bracket busters, including wine startup Really Good Boxed Wine and growing real estate startup Homebuyer.
Headed into the final: the highest seeded startup is Neural Payments, a sixth-seed. Clean Earth Rovers and Contact CI both remain to represent No. 7 seeds. While No. 8 seed TinnCann rounds out the remaining pool. Here's what you need to know about each company, listed in order of seeding:
- Montgomery-based Neural Payments connects banks and credit unions to payment providers like PayPal or Venmo, cutting down an otherwise clunky user experience and bridging a gap between fintech and financial institutions.
- Tech startup Contact CI, based in Over-the-Rhine, is developing “haptic human-computer interaction,” focused on extending the hand's sense of touch into virtual reality.
- Clean Earth Rovers, comprised entirely of University of Cincinnati and Xavier University alumni, is developing a high-tech machine to fight plastic and water pollution.
- Techstars-backed TinnCann lets users video chat 1-on-1 with a curated group of athletes and experts in fashion, photography, music and more.
