Every December, we post our annual 'Startups to Watch,' a collection of early-stage Chicago companies that we predict and anticipate big things out of in the coming twelve months and beyond. (We had 15 in 2015, 16 in 2016, and we just announced our list of 17 last week, from Tempus to TransparentCareer). And, for the past two years, it's ended up being one of our most-read posts of the year.
Given the interest, it's evident that out readers enjoy learning more about the new businesses poised to shape the city's innovation economy and disrupt their respective industries. So, for 2017, we wanted to do something a little different. That's why, in addition to the post, we'll be bringing this experience offline, creating an opportunity to engage with, hear from, and learn more about a handful of the companies on this list, in person.
On January, 26th, we'll be hosting our Startups to Watch meetup(WeWork National, 125 S. Clark St.), which will feature pitches and discussions with several of the selected startups. We'll also be inviting every company from our previous two lists, resulting in a room full of some of the city's fastest-growing companies.
