Trunk Club Partners with Uber on Stylish Promotion

Uber's no stranger to creative promotions. Remember when they were delivering Corned Beef and kittens? Though the ridesharing app's new promotion isn't the company's most outlandish campaign, it's certainly its most stylish.

Today, Uber announced that it has partnered with Chicago-based Trunk Club on a five-day promotion that will run from the 23rd through the 27th. Here's how it works: The first 10,000 users to take three Uber Black rides in one of five markets - Chicago, Dallas, LA, New York, and D.C. - will automatically receive $100 towards Trunk Club. Just use promo code TRUNKCLUB100 when you order your ride. It's that easy.

Trunk Club, founded in 2009, is a men's clothing service that delivers stylist-selected fashion to its users' doors. Users keep the clothes they like and return what they don't. Though the company has been primarily a men's platform, it's been rumored that Trunk Club is exploring a women's service, as well. In July, the startup sold to Nordstrom for $350M.

Since the acquisition, Trunk Club has executed a number of high-profile promotions, including sponsoring the smash hit Serial. Crain's also reported earlier this month that the company is expanding into a 17,000 square foot office space in River North and signed a lease for a 170,000 square feet warehouse on Goose Island.

Uber has also been increasing its presence in Chicago. In September, the fast-growing company announced that it will open up a 56,000 square foot Midwest headquarters in the city, resulting in over 420 new jobs.
