Lovendar, the App for Couples, Partners With OpenTable to Help Plan Date Night

There are a million dating websites out there to help people find love. But one Chicago-based app is trying to help people stay in love.

Lovendar is an app for couples to create shared lists for future date plans, anniversary gift ideas, and grocery items. It also lets you search local events, movie times, and food delivery. And it allows you to leave comments on each item.

But Wednesday Lovendar took the date planning experience one step further by announcing a partnership with OpenTable, a popular online restaurant reservation service. Lovendar couples can use OpenTable to plan, request and book a table at a romantic restaurant through the Lovendar app.

"We're delighted to work with OpenTable, the perfect service to aid in our mission of helping couples lead more romantic lives," Lovendar CEO Ellona Ferson said in a statement. "We believe that OpenTable users are exactly the romantic type of couples using Lovendar."

Being predominantly a list creating app, the partnership with OpenTable gives Lovendar some additional functionality for couples, Ferson said.

"Ever since we launched Lovendar, lists were just the first effort to help couples plan and follow through for each other," Ferson said. "But with this release, Lovendar goes one step further to really help couples get things done together."
