Now that Chicago has finally strung together a week plus of nice weather, it feels almost masochistic to think or even talk about the upcoming winter season. But Windy City-based Brad's Deals has just analyzed nearly a decade of years of holiday data and content to assemble a comprehensive list of anticipated 2014 Black Friday deals.
Here's how they did it:
To make my predictions, my team and I analyzed several years of Black Friday ads to find trends for prices and the products being offered. We looked up the lowest prices ever seen on the doorbusters we know shoppers will want. We then compared that information to the deals we’ve found and posted over the past year at Brad’s Deals and consulted our team of deal experts. Finally, we took a step back and considered that every Black Friday is different, and we adjusted our predictions accordingly. - Founder and CEO Brad Wilson
Brad's Deals, founded in 2001 as an alternative to the over-priced college bookstore, is an online leader in curated daily deals and is one of the top 500 most visited websites in the U.S.
Some of their 2014 predications include:
- 32" HDTVs will fall as low as $78
- 4K TVs – as low as $399 for 50" models
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 for $99
- iPhone 6 + gift card for $189
- Xbox One and PlayStation 4 bundles for $399
- KitchenAid 4.5-qt stand mixer for around $100
- Dyson Vacuums starting at $250
- LeadPad tablets for $39.99
- Furby for $19.99
You can view the full list of predictions here. To put together these predictions, "there was also some anecdotal expertise involved," said Outreach Coordinator Sean Graw. "For example, there were no great deals on newest-generation game consoles last year because they were brand new. This year, however, they’re a year old, and historically, game consoles don’t have great deals until they’ve been on the market for a year."
Yes, it's still way too early to think about the holidays. But if you have to think about them, at least reference the above data to score some deals.
