Finding a safe way to use your phone's GPS while driving is critical. Fumbling with your smartphone as you're navigating through an unknown area is super dangerous. And mounting your device can be tricky as you change phones or add a case.
But a Chicagoan has developed a mounting device that works with basically any tablet or phone, and its Kickstarter campaign has already raised more than $20,000, doubling its goal with 25 days to go.
Anil Rami is crowdfunding for the Neutron S and Neutron A, mounting system from his company Bungajungle that claims to prop up mobile devices virtually anywhere. As you can see from the Kickstarter video above, your deceive clings to a refrigerator, bookshelf, brick fireplace, and yes--a car's dashboard. The Neutron A is designed specifically with the car dashboard in mind.
The mounting devices use shielded permanent neodymium magnets that never lose their hold, and aren't affected by dirt or changes in temperature, according to the Kickstarter. And the magnetic shield means no magnetic field will enter into you device.
A $25 pledge gets you the Neutron A or Neutron S, along with accessories, and shipping to Kickstarter backers is expected to take place in October.
Nearly 400 backers have contributed to the Kickstarter, which is a serious vote of confidence for this innovative, Chicago-born product.
