The Guys Behind a $300K Kickstarter for a Titanium Pen Have a New Innovative Design

Two years ago Chicagoans Chadwick Parker and Joe Huang raised more than $300,000 for a titanium pen that doubled as a stylus. The duo behind BIGiDESIGN is back with a new Kickstarter for a space-ink titanium pen and stylus that accepts more than 35 ballpoint refills. You're going to want to take this pen from Jack Klompus.

The Kickstarter for the Ti-Ballpoint Pen and Stylus launched today and has already reached its $10,000 goal with more than 180 backers and climbing. The cap-style pen also accepts fine-tip and needlepoint refills.

The minimal, elegant style remains the same as their last pen, but this one extends the life of the writing tool by incorporating dozens of refills, including the world-famous Fisher Space Pen ink.

The pen lets you switch from needle to ballpoint in seconds, and it has a removable stylus tip that works well with your smartphone. It's made of commercially pure TA2 titanium, has a stainless steel internal tension spring, and a conductive silicone stylus tip. The Kickstarter will raise funds to purchase materials in bulk in order for the company to meet the minimum order quantities to keep the cost down, the campaign says.

A $65 pledge gets you the pen, a space pen refill, a stylus tip, and other accessories, with an estimated delivery date of December.
