Bears QB Caleb Williams launches investment firm

New Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is teaming with several business veterans to launch an investment firm.

The firm, 888 Midas, aims to invest in private equity, venture capital and real estate. In a statement announcing the venture Wednesday, Williams — the No. 1 pick in this year's NFL draft — said the structure of the organization will allow him to remain focused on "bringing the Lombardi Trophy back home to Chicago" but lets him further his plans to be "both an athlete and a businessman."

Williams' partners and advisers in 888 Midas include:

  • Lew Wolff, chairman of Wolff Urban and former co-owner and managing partner of the Oakland Athletics
  • Sherif Guirgis, former managing director at Main Street Advisors
  • Ross Walker, co-founder and managing partner of Hawkins Way Capital
  • John Terzian, co-founder and co-preisdent of The h.wood Group

"To eliminate the potential for distraction, it was important to me to immediately set up a business operation with established, trusted partners and advisors I've known for years to strategically take advantage of ventures in the global marketplace," Williams said in the statement.
