Advantage Solutions Inc. sold The Data Council Inc., a Chicago-based content management platform for e-commerce and product marketing, to Spins LLC.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Chicago-based Spins, which provides wellness-focused data and intelligence for the natural products industry, said the acquisition will enable easier, more efficient and more intelligent interactions across that ecosystem, while also accelerating both innovation and access to a growing set of brands and products.
"A smarter, smoother content management process is essential to helping bring natural products to customers, better assets, more detailed information and integration into analytics is the only way to grow," said Spins CEO Jay Margolis in a statement.
Margolis, who was appointed CEO last July, said the acquisition is also an important step forward for Spins retailer partners seeking high-quality and detailed product information that could help fuel their e-commerce, in-store and supply chain success.
"This is a natural and welcome step forward for Spins as we continue to seek out new ways to make it easier for our customers and partners to connect, communicate, and grow," said Margolis.
