Looking to get in the holiday spirit? How about spending a night in the Home Alone house, where you can relive the iconic '90s film and even participate in some holiday hijinx.
Airbnb (NASDAQ: ABNB) is making the Home Alone house in suburban Winnetka available for one night only. Four lucky guests will have their run of the McCallisters' crib on Dec. 12, which is decked out in Christmas decor and comes with a "battle plan" for guests to set booby traps and experience other moments from the Home Alone films. There's even a tarantula, Chicago pizza, and plenty of aftershave if you want to scream into the mirror.
You can book the stay starting Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. CT. Airbnb is charging just $25 for the night.
It's not the first time Airbnb has let users rent out a famous house. The home-sharing company opened up Scottie Pippin's house for people to book during the summer Olympics, and let fans stay a night in the Golden Girls guesthouse. In 2019 it also let users stay in the Downton Abbey House.
At the Home Alone house, guests will get a showing of the franchise’s newest holiday flick, Home Sweet Home Alone, and get a Home Alone lego set to take with them.
Airbnb said it's monitoring Chicago's Covid-19 infection rates, and will offer guests a $1,000 travel credit if it becomes necessary to cancel.
The suburban Chicago home has long been a tourist attraction for fans, who regularly drive by to take photos of the house. The home last sold in 2015 for $1.5 million.
