Chicago-based Foxtrot, which operates several elevated corner stores in Chicago and other cities, opened a shop in Wicker Park this week.

The store, which sells snacks, meals, alcohol and coffee, opened at 1567 N. Milwaukee Ave. on Wednesday. The location is Foxtrot’s ninth store in Chicago and its 13th overall. Foxtrot also has stores in Washington, D.C. and Dallas.

The latest store includes Foxtrot’s first-ever cheese and charcuterie bar, adding to other offerings, like 200 selections of wine, house-made sandwiches and a full espresso bar, which can be accessed from a walk-up window.

Founded in 2013 as an online-only food and alcohol delivery service, Foxtrot has since expanded to a growing brick-and-mortar business. Foxtrot said it plans to open five more stores by the end of 2021, some of which will be in new markets.

The opening of its ninth store and plans for more come after Foxtrot raised $42 million from investors in February. To date, Foxtrot has raised more than $65 million.

As part of the Wicker Park store opening, Foxtrot is offering free delivery from all of its Chicago stores on Friday and donating delivery fees to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
