Amazon has opened yet another grocery store in the Chicagoland area.

The e-commerce giant announced the opening of its latest Amazon Fresh grocery store Thursday, located in west suburban Bloomingdale. It's the company's fourth Amazon Fresh store to open in Illinois, and it comes one month after opening in the south suburb of Oak Lawn.

Amazon also has grocery store locations in Naperville and Schaumburg.

The new Bloomingdale store created "hundreds of job opportunities," Mayor Franco Coladipietro said in a statement. Amazon also said that surplus food from the Bloomingdale Amazon Fresh store will be donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

The 40,000-square-foot store, located at 404 Army Trail Rd. in Bloomingdale, offers a selection of produce, meat and seafood, along with prepared foods that are made daily, like fresh-baked bread, made-to-order pizzas and hot sandwiches.

The Amazon Fresh store also offers shoppers high-tech features found at the e-commerce giant's other grocery stores, such as Amazon Dash Cart, which allows customers to pay without going through the checkout line, and new Alexa features that help customers with their shopping lists and navigating the store aisles. It also offers free, same-day delivery and pick-up for Amazon Prime members.

Amazon announced last year that it planed to open four Amazon Fresh grocery stores in the Chicago area and hire 1,500 people.
