If the pandemic and brutal winter season has you itching for a socially-distanced getaway this spring, a startup wants to hook you up with a cabin in the woods just two hours away from Chicago.

New York startup Getaway announced Thursday that it opened its latest outpost in Grand Junction, Michigan, which includes 41 cabins situated on 79 acres. Dubbed Getaway Barber Creek, the experience is billed as an escape for Chicagoans who want a change of scenery just two hours outside of the city.

Getaway offers cabins with queen beds that sleep 1-2 guests, as well as cabins with queen bunk beds for 3-4 guests. Designed with the idea guests will unplug and connect with nature, the cabins come equipped with cellphone lock boxes. It also features fire pits, picnic tables, a hot shower and a two-burner stove. The cabins start at $129 a night.

Getaway has 14 outposts in areas across the U.S., focusing on places that are within two hours of major metros like Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte and Boston.

Getaway saw its business boom in 2020, with a 150% increase in bookings year-over-year, and nearly 100% occupancy across all of its sites as people fled mid-pandemic city life for a little slice of nature. Earlier this month the startup raised a $41.7 million Series C round to open more locations across the country.
