Amazon officially opened the doors to its third grocery store in Chicagoland Thursday with the launch of a new Amazon Fresh location in Oak Lawn.

The new store, located at 4031 W. 95th St. in the south suburb of Oak Lawn, is part of the newly redeveloped Oak Lawn Commons. The 35,000-square-foot store offers access to high-quality foods at lower prices, Amazon said, including produce, meat, seafood and prepared foods that are made in store.

The Amazon Fresh store also offers shoppers high-tech features found at the e-commerce giant's other grocery stores, such as Amazon Dash Cart, which allows customers to pay without going through the checkout line, and new Alexa features that help customers with their shopping lists and navigating the store aisles. It also offers free, same-day delivery and pick-up for Amazon Prime members.

The Oak Lawn store follows other Chicago-area Fresh openings in Naperville and Schaumburg.

Amazon said in October that it plans to open four Amazon Fresh grocery stores in Chicagoland and hire 1,500 people.

“The store brings hundreds of much needed jobs, high-quality food, low prices and innovative convenience features," Oak Lawn Mayor Sandra Bury said in a statement.
