Kellogg Company said it's opened an innovation hub — the Menuvation Center — at The Hatchery, a hub for new food entrepreneurs located at 135 N. Kedzie Ave.

The Menuvation Center at The Hatchery is part of the Battle Creek, Michigan food giant's (NYSE: K) Kellogg's Away From Home program to provide assistance to chefs and food-service operators, and Kellogg's describes it as "a science lab, kitchen and think tank all rolled into one."

The center will allow chefs and restaurant operators to test out recipes in gigantic test kitchens, while working with Kellogg's food specialists.

Chefs and restaurant owners can also take advantage of Kellogg's' data-driven ICrave Process, which the company said provides analysis and insights to give the restaurant industry new ideas for future menu items.

Food Business News reported that the Menuvation Center is designed specifically for operators with 50 to 150 units but all customers can avail themselves to the center's service, and added that the kitchen has pieces of equipment that may be arranged to simulate an operator’s back-of-house setup.
