Tired of working from home? Hyatt will let you spend the day working from one of its hotel rooms in its new "Office for the Day" option.
Chicago-based Hyatt announced Thursday that it's offering a program that allows guests to spend the day working at one of its hotels starting at $65 per day. The option is being made available at more than 400 Hyatt hotels across North America, and it's being offered through May 31, 2021.
Guests can check in as early as 7:00 a.m. and leave as late as 7:00 p.m. They'll receive access to WiFi, printers, fax machines, and other hotel amenities like the gym and pool.
The idea, Hyatt says, is to give people a change of scenery from the home office and a way to work in a quiet, private environment.
"By continuously listening to our members and guests, we understand what’s most important to them; they are prioritizing wellbeing now more than ever and want more flexibility and creative new ways to avoid burnout,” Asad Ahmed, Hyatt's SVP of commercial services, said in a statement.
Hyatt is also offering in-room meditation session with the hotel chain's collaboration with app Headspace.
The new offering comes as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to hit the hospitality industry especially hard. Even with the promise of a looming coronavirus vaccine, the hotel industry may not recover until 2023, according to a S&P Global Ratings report. Year-over-year revenue per available room, an industry statistic used for measuring hotel health, has decreased 50% in 2020.
