Hornitos Tequila is launching a multi-year investment platform to provide financial assistance and resources to diverse entrepreneurs.

The tequila brand owned by Chicago-based Beam Suntory said the program, dubbed "The Shot Fund," is “dedicated to empowering creative entrepreneurs taking shots at trailblazing ventures in their careers.”

As part of the fund, Hornitos Tequila said it has committed to “fostering the professional development and success of diverse and influential creatives in 2020 and beyond.”

The inaugural cohort will feature entrepreneurs representing a wide range of cultures and industries, including Celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo, visual artist Lourdes Villagómez, and photographer and filmmaker Diego Huerta, and photographer Paul Octavious.

"Ever since our founder Don Francisco introduced Hornitos Tequila as a Reposado in 1950 and established himself as an innovator in the tequila industry, we've been emboldened by the opportunity to take chances for the betterment of tequila," Rashidi Hodari, managing director of Beam Suntory’s tequila division, said in a statement. "That boundary-pushing spirit stands as the driving force behind 'The Shot Fund,' an initiative that provides those who share our revolutionary mentality with the funds needed to continue pushing the envelope and breaking barriers in their field.”
