CommonGrounds Workplace opens co-working space in Chicago's Financial District

CommonGrounds Workplace has expanded its footprint with a new 30,800 square-foot co-working office space in Chicago's Financial District.

The office, located at 33 North LaSalle, is a 38-story art deco tower with 25-foot ceilings and an abundance of natural light, the San Diego, California-based company said.

CommonGrounds’s lease includes the entire second and third floors. The office renovation, overseen by the company’s in-house design division, is nearing completion and it is ready for member occupancy.

"The Chicago Loop has limited enterprise flexible office solutions for the Fortune 1500 and Global 1000. Our enterprise-grade Space-as-a-Service platforms are cost-effective, while offering people-centric and company branded environments; including design options, leading-edge technology, top-tier data security, and options for worklife integration and wellbeing," CommonGrounds Chief Executive Jacob Bates said in a statement.

CommonGrounds said the space offers over 100 square-feet per person with everyday amenities. The company also said it has taken “extreme” safety measures and precautions, including additional cleaning services, to ensure the safest environment for members.

The building’s amenities includes a fitness center, state-of-the-art golf bay simulator, and an amphitheater-style event space.

With immediate Pedway access, the building is near multiple CTA bus stops, centrally located to all three major Metra Rail stations, and a 10-minute walk to Millennium Park. There are four parking garages, restaurants, shopping and entertainment nearby.

Chicago-based Partners by Design is the architect of record for the new office. Sound abating demountable wall systems are by Milan, Italy-based Tecno and customizable contract grade furniture by San Francisco-based Pair are used in the workplace.
