Foxtrot is bringing its corner store of the future concept to yet another Chicago neighborhood with the opening of a new location in Streeterville.
Chicago-based Foxtrot announced Thursday that it has opened its newest store at 535 N. McClurg Ct. in the first floor of a high-rise Streeterville apartment building. The new store features fresh and prepared foods, a coffee bar, craft beer, wine and other grab-and-go items.
The Streeterville store is Foxtrot's 8th location in Chicago and its 10th overall. It operates two stores in Dallas.
Foxtrot's brick-and-mortar stores also serve as warehouses for its online delivery business, where it offers one-hour delivery service of beer, wine, food and other items through its app.
Founded in 2013, Foxtrot is working to reinvent the corner store model by combining brick-and-mortar community spaces alongside an on-demand delivery business. Despite Covid-19, the company says it has more than doubled its year-over-year revenue from January to May compared to the year prior.
In February, Foxtrot raised $17 million in funding from Imaginary Ventures, Wittington Ventures, Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund and other backers.
Foxtrot says it has plans to enter the Washington, D.C., market later this year with stores in the Georgetown and Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhoods.
