Some of the biggest names in sports, technology, investing and entertainment will gather at the Hyatt Regency Chicago Friday for the 2020 NBA All-Star Tech Summit, an event where NBA team owners, players and tech executives will discuss topics such as leadership strategy, media streaming and personal technology.
The NBA All-Star game is taking place this weekend at Chicago’s United Center. The city last hosted an NBA All-Star game in 1988.
The invite-only event, now in its 21st year, includes a one-on-one talk with Amazon Web Services CEO Andy Jassy. Some of the featured panelists are Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Charles Barkley; Dallas Mavericks owner and tech entrepreneur and investor Mark Cuban; Hall of Famer and business owner Magic Johnson; executives from YouTube, Disney Media and Facebook; Steve Stoute, the founder and CEO of music company UnitedMasters, which is backed by $70 million from Google parent company Alphabet; and Strauss Zelnick, CEO and chairman of Take-Two Interactive Software, a video gaming company that owns 2K and Rockstar Games, the maker of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Moderators for Friday’s summit include Wolf Blitzer, Poppy Harlow and John King of CNN and Fortune Magazine executive editor Adam Lashinsky.
At last year’s summit in Charlotte, NBA commissioner Adam Silver revealed a "smart jersey" for fans. The connected jersey allows fans to change the number and names on an NBA jersey via an app on their smartphone.
