Qualtrics, a B2B experience software platform, is opening an office in Chicago, bringing 200 jobs to the Windy City.
The Salt Lake City and Seattle-based company announced Wednesday that it is opening the new 25,000-square-foot office at 191 N. Wacker Drive. It is slated to open spring of 2020 and will mainly house sales and marketing positions.
Founded in 2002, Qualtrics makes software that allows companies to interact with their employees and customers. Qualtrics had raised $400 million in venture capital funding, according to Crunchbase, and was acquired by SAP in January for $8 billion. It has more than 11,000 clients in over 100 countries. Local customers include Hyatt Hotels, Crate & Barrel and Cars.com.
Qualtrics says its first-ever paying customer was Angela Lee, a professor at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. The company said it now employs more Kellogg MBA graduates than any other business school.
The Chicago office is just the latest office expansion Qualtrics has announced recently. The company also revealed office expansions in Seattle, where it says it will employ 2,000 people, and Dublin, Ireland, where it says it will create 350 additional jobs.
Qualtrics currently employs more than 3,000 people across its 25 offices global offices, and it expects to grow to 8,000 employees by 2023.
Qualtrics' expansion announcement comes on the heels of Google announcing that it's doubling down on its Chicago presence. Just last week, Google unveiled its second Chicago office that will be home to its growing Cloud team in Chicago. Aside from Google, Salesforce, Facebook and Uber have all also made significant expansion plans in the Windy City.
