Coworking giant WeWork announced Thursday that it is adding two new office locations in Chicago, meaning the New York-based company will soon occupy nearly 1 million square feet across 11 local locations.

WeWork is opening a 53,000-square-foot location at 1 S. Dearborn St. in the Loop, which is expected to open in September. The second location, a 140,000-square-foot office at 167 N. Green St. in Fulton Market, is slated to open in mid-2021.

WeWork currently operates nine Chicago offices across River North, the Loop and Fulton Market. Once the two new locations are open, WeWork says it will occupy 930,000 square feet throughout the city. Just at the end of last year, WeWork announced the opening of its ninth location next to Union Station.

Like its other locations, members at the new Chicago offices will receive 24/7 building access, micro-roasted coffee, community events and on-site staff. However, the Fulton Market office is slated to have some amenities that go above and beyond WeWork's typical offerings. The company says it will have dog-friendly offices, an outdoor penthouse rooftop, an indoor lounge, an event space that converts into a basketball court and a full gym.

Both offices will provide workspaces for businesses of all sizes, ranging from small businesses to high-growth startups and Fortune 500 companies. WeWork says a third of the Fortune 500 are currently members.

“WeWork provides access to vibrant, professional spaces and new ways of working for businesses of all sizes,” said Megan Dodds, WeWork’s Midwest general manager, in a statement. “With the addition of these two new locations, WeWork members have greater access to a campus-like ecosystem linking together innovative workspaces that allow them to cut their commute or meet a client in the area most convenient to them.”
