Deloitte today released its annual list of the fastest-growing tech companies in North America, and seven Chicago companies cracked the list.
In Deloitte's 2018 North America Technology Fast 500, which measured the fastest-growing companies in technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and energy tech sectors, the consulting firm found that the top Chicago company was Power Reviews, a software startup that has seen 2,902 percent revenue growth from 2014 to 2017. The startup ranked No. 49 out of the 500 fastest-growing companies.
Here's the breakdown of all the Chicago companies on Deloitte's list, followed by their three-year revenue growth.
Power Reviews (No. 49): 2,902 percent
OppLoans (No. 86): 1,527 percent
Hireology (No. 133): 835 percent
Snapsheet (No. 147): 755 percent
Avant (No. 249): 360 percent
Cision (No. 301): 271 percent
Liquidus (No. 439): 172 percent
The Chicago companies include several well-known tech startups, like unicorn lending company Avant and insurtech startup Snapsheet. No. 1 on the list was Wisconsin-based SwanLeap, a startup that makes logistics software that uses artificial intelligence to help companies automate their supply chain. The Madison startup saw a whopping 77,000 percent revenue growth over the last three years. The business was also named the fastest-growing company on this year's Inc. 5000.
The Chicago area fell behind other metros when it came to percentage of Fast 500 companies. Silicon Valley companies made up 18 percent of this year’s Fast 500, while the New York metro area had 14 percent of the companies. New England and greater Washington, D.C. areas each had 7 percent, and greater Los Angeles accounted for 6 percent.
