Snapsheet, a Chicago startup whose technology lets people file automobile insurance claims via their smartphone camera, is making some big moves.
Snapsheet moved into its new Loop office this week, marked by an official ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Rahm Emanuel, as the insurance tech company continues its fast-paced growth.
Snapsheet's new space, located at 1 N. Dearborn, comes as the company now has more than 400 employees---200 of which were hired just in the last year. The company says it plans to add another 150 workers in 2018.
The startup works with dozens of major auto insurance carriers, including USAA and Liberty Mutual, providing them with technology that allows their customers to virtually file insurance claims. Snapsheet's platform allows users to upload accident photos with their smartphone camera and easily communicate with repair shops. The company, which was founded in 2010, has raised $43 million in venture funding to date.
Snapsheet is among several promising VC-backed insurance tech startups that have sprouted up in Chicago in recent years, including Kin Insurance, Clearcover, and DataCubes.
At 52,000 square feet, Snapsheet's new office is more than double the size of its previous home at 55 West Monroe. The new Loop office includes amenities like multiple nap rooms, a game room, lounge areas and a cafe. Take a look at the space below.
