While Apple and Samsung have the lion's share of publicity and notoriety in the smartphone market, Motorola has quietly made some of the most innovative handheld device products in recent years.

The Chicago-based cell phone maker's Moto Mods, a collection of hardware attachments that connect to a user's Moto Z, help users upgrade their phone in a snap. Current Moto Mods include a projector, an Amazon Alexa smart speaker, an extra battery pack and a 360 degree camera.

Now, Motorola is announcing its latest Moto Mod innovation: a Polaroid camera.

On Wednesday Motorola unveiled its new Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod. The attachment allows you to instantly print your photos in seconds, and also lets you print photos that have already been uploaded to Facebook, Instagram and Google Photos.

The Polaroid Moto Mod also allows you to add filters, borders and text to your printed pictures.

"Whether it’s a spontaneous road trip with friends or a holiday gathering with family, all your important moments are easily captured and beautifully displayed with the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer moto mod," Motorola said in a blog post announcing the product.

The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer costs $200 and will be available at Verizon stores this week, Motorola said. You can pre-order the new Moto Mod online here.
