Co-working chain WeWork and Chicago's Bunker Labs want to help give veteran entrepreneurs a leg up.

The two companies launched a national effort this week to provide sponsored office space to veterans in 10 different cities, including WeWork's State Street space in Chicago.

The program, called Veterans in Residence, will give co-working space to 10 groups of 10 veterans across 10 cities every six months, WeWork said. It plans to work with more than 1,000 veterans over the next five years.

The participating cities include Chicago, Austin, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York City, Detroit, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.

Partnering with WeWork is Bunker Labs, a Chicago-based program that provides resources to veteran startup founders. The non-profit organization offers entrepreneurs networking opportunities, educational resources like Bunker in a Box, and the Bunker Labs Community App, which lets veterans connect with other veteran founders from across the U.S.

Launched at Chicago's 1871 in 2014, Bunker Labs is now in more than a dozen cities across the country. You can learn more about the program in the video below.
