Reverb.com, a fast-growing online marketplace for buying and selling music gear, announced it has brought in a new chief technology officer.
Chicago-based Reverb said Monday that it has hired Scott Parker as its next CTO. Parker, a former engineering manager at fellow Chicago tech company Braintree, will assume the duties that were previously split by COO Dan Melnick and former CTO Yan Pritzker. Melnick now leads Reverb's new vinyl record marketplace, Reverb LP, and Pritzker is now director of infrastructure and in charge of scaling Reverb's technology globally.
Parker spent four years at Braintree, and he had previous stints at Groupon, Obtiva and Sonoma Partners.
Parker will be tasked with leading Reverb's engineering team as the company continues to grow quickly. This year it was named the 18th fastest-growing company on the Inc. 500, ranking No. 1 in top retail companies. Reverb said its sales were expected to reach $429 million in 2017.
Reverb also announced Monday that it has added Grubhub's chief financial officer Adam DeWitt to its board of directors.
“Since launching in 2013, we’ve grown from several employees in a cramped room above a drum shop to a marketplace that sees more than 10 million visitors per month from all over the world,” David Kalt, Reverb CEO and founder, said in a statement. “As our company continues to evolve to meet the needs of our growing community of musicians and music lovers, we’ll continue to add strong tech leaders like Scott and Adam to our team.”
Reverb has raised $47 million to date.
