Outcome Health Plucks a Top Engineer From Twitter

Outcome Health continued its hot streak Monday, announcing that it has hired Twitter's former vice president of engineering.

Outcome on Monday named Nandini Ramani as its first chief engineering officer. Ramani will be in charge of the company's software and hardware efforts. Outcome provides in-office tablets to doctor's offices that are designed to engage with patients at the point of care and improve healthcare outcomes.

Ramani represents yet another big hire for Outcome, which earlier this year raised a $500 million round at a more than $5 billion valuation. Ramani has been named one of the most powerful female engineers in the world, and she was responsible for the engineering efforts across Twitter’s more than 1,300-person tech team. Before joining Twitter in 2014, she led the $320 million Java business unit at Oracle.

Ramani will report to Outcome COO Vivek Kundra, who was hired in January after stints at Salesforce and as the first CIO of the United States under President Obama.

"Healthcare is an industry close to my heart and Outcome Health’s impact on society is tangible and meaningful,” Ramani said in a statement. “In addition to Outcome Health’s commitment to its mission, the addressable market and track record of growth are remarkable. Building a platform that can deliver better decision making, clinical workflow and health outcomes is a rare opportunity, especially at this scale."

Twitter isn't the only Silicon Valley social networking giant Outcome has taken a top executive from. In April Outcome hired Blake Chandlee, an early Facebook executive and the company's first UK employee, as its EVP of industry solutions and emerging businesses.
