Monday: 4/3

The Founder Files ft. Derek Eder and Forest Gregg of DataMade: Dev Bootcamp will be a hosting a series of Founders who will share their story, talk about their company, and describe their journey to success. Join us for a night of networking, refreshments, and conversation about what it takes to start a company. Intro to Java: This introductory workshop organized by Anita Borg’s Institute’s Chicago chapter focuses on students with no programming experience in Java. Basic Core Java concepts will be taught. We plan on covering Inheritance, Encapsulation, Primitive types and Wrappers, Packages and Access control, Polymorphism, Collections Framework and Exceptions. DeVry Bootcamp Full-stack JavaScript Coding Bootcamp Open House: Attend this event to learn more about the DeVry Bootcamp Experience. Meet one of their instructors and other members of the DeVry Bootcamp Team while enjoying food, refreshments, and great conversation. Free to attend and held at DeVry University’s Loop campus. 1 Million Cups is a free, national program designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. Coffee inspires daily, but especially Wednesday mornings. Free to attend, held at 1871. More information here.

The government and the social sector in philanthropy are the only places in the economy that measure impact only after a program has been funded.  Every other business uses data to predict the impact. The Impact Genome is a universal evidence base to research, evaluate and predict what works in social change. The Genome spans 132 common outcomes across 11 areas of social impact. Join the City of Chicago Data User Group on April 5th to hear Mission Measurement founder Jason Saul talk about the genesis of this project, the data it uses, and the data it will create. 6:00pm at the Microsoft Technology Center Chicago, free to attend.

Join FinTank, Chicago’s newest workplace for fintech entrepreneurs, as they kick off they first meet-up session on Business Intelligence (BI) innovations for the finance operations community.The purpose of this monthly BI meet-up is to foster networking, collaboration, and ideation among BI developers and business professionals that are seeking knowledge about cutting edge BI applications for business.

General Assembly invites you to join them for an interactive breakfast for Women in Technology. They feature great women in tech to give their insight on how they reached their level of success, advice on navigating the workplace, and how they can help the next generation of women in tech. This dynamic panel will be moderated by Tricia Whitlock of Tech Square Labs, a new innovation hub for entrepreneurs in Atlanta. More information here.

Get ready for the 2nd Annual Catapult Startup Field Day! Catapult is bringing together the Chicago tech startup community for a day of basketball, bags and bocce. Remember the end-of-school field days? This is the entrepreneurial equivalent (we're serving beer, not juice boxes). Gather your co-workers and form your teams.
