We're just two weeks into 2017, which means there's still time to make good on that resolution to work out more in the new year.
And this week the workout will come to you. For free.
Reebok and Handstand, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based on-demand training app that just expanded to Chicago, are offering free personal training sessions through the end of January, as long as they're booked by the end of this week. The only payment required is a handshake, said Handstand and Reebok (the promotion is part of Reebok's current "HANDS" advertising campaign).
Users just have to download the Handstand app (available on iOS and online) between Tuesday, January 17 and Friday, January 20, and book a personal training session before January 31. Users select the "free Reebok workout" option, choose a type of workout (such as pilates or interval training), and book a free session. Free sessions will be available as long as there are sessions available with local trainers, and there are 65 trainers on the platform in Chicago.
Handstand, which launched in Chicago this week (and is available in 15 other cities across the country), offers on-demand personal trainers that either meet at a pre-set location or at one of their partner gym locations. Personal trainers offer customized one hour sessions depending on the needs of the user, including boxing, barre, and cardio. Handstand offers membership plans that range from $62 to $65 per session (to compare--outside Handstand, personal training in Chicago can range from $40 to $80 per session, according to Chicago Fitness Report).
Trainers can also apply to be included on the platform.
