On Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Chicago, you can see the iconic civil rights hero like never before: in a hologram.

Chicago tech consulting firm EX3 Labs is hosting The MLK 3-D Experience Monday, January 16 at 1871, which will combine virtual reality, augmented reality and holographic technology to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through holograms. The experience will be a "visual journey into the key events, speeches and movements that shaped our country," Ex3 Labs said in a news release.

The interactive experience will include panoramic views of historic events during the civil rights era, an augmented reality hologram clip of Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech, and additional stations showing how AR is changing civil services, healthcare and education.

The event takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at 1871 in the Merchandise Mart. The event is free, but invitation only. Spokeswoman Safiya Ellis said you can email safiya@ex3labs.com to request tickets.
