If you're not looking forward to the winter weather ahead, there's plenty to look forward to in the tech and startup world. If you're looking to network, learn how to be a better leader, or try your hand at coding, take a look at the following upcoming events -- some of which you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

Monday 12/12

The Founder Institute is hosting a Female Founder Online Demo Day, where five growing, female-led startup from around the world will present their businesses to top venture capital investors. This online-meet up will be a great opportunity for investors and entrepreneurs to learn some tips from seasoned industry professionals. For more information, click here.

Tuesday 12/13

On Tuesday, ABI.Chicago is hosting a panel with some of Chicago's best leaders in the food tech business leaders. Panelists will talk about the future of the food tech industry, as well as their experiences in the industry and how their ideas turned into products. Wednesday 12/14

If you'd rather stay in from the cold, TrainHR is hosting a webinar on how to be an effective leader. The webinar will review some noteworthy leaders and the way someone must behave to be a successful leader. The conversation begins at 10:00. For more information, click here.

Thursday 12/15

Founder Night Out is an opportunity for tech founders to network with other tech founders, enjoy a few drinks and listen to brief lightening talks from different Chicago-area founders. For more information, click here.

Friday 12/16

Adler Planetarium is hosting an End of the Year Extravaganza, where youths will not only get to play games made by Adler's game-making students, they'll have an opportunity to make their own games. For more information, click here.

Saturday 12/17

This Saturday, Chicago Chapter of Black Girls CODE is hosting Game Jam, an interactive workshop for participants (between ages 5 and 17) to be introduced to animation, gaming and interactive stories. For more information, click here.

Also on Saturday is General Assembly's Social Media Bootcamp. This class will explore the social media landscape (trends and their implications) as well as how to tailor social media tools to existing business strategies.
