Midwest Report: All of the Region's Major Tech Fundings, M&As, and IPOs in November



While we're primarily focused on Chicago's innovation economy, we also have our eyes on all of the startup and tech activity happening throughout the entire Midwest. Here are the major tech fundings, acquisitions, mergers, moves and IPOs that went down in the region in November. See all Midwest Reports here

11/2: St. Louis-based Contegix, an IT hosting company, received a strategic investment from Strattam Capital.

11/8: Wixom, Michigan-based RevSpring, a provider of multi-channel billing and communications software, has been acquired by GTCR, a Chicago-based private equity firm.

11/9: Cleveland-based Heureka Software, a data intelligence and cyber security company, raised $1.1M from JumpStart, an entrepreneurially-focused non-profit, and local angel investors.

11/14: Indianapolis-based Perq, a marketing tech and advertising company, raised $1.7M from 4G Ventures.

11/15: Cleveland-based MacroPoint, a developer of automated location tracking software, raised $44M from Susquehanna Growth Equity.

11/15: Cincinnati-based Genetesis, a med device startup that developed the first tool to non-invasively generate images of the heart’s electrical current distribution, raised $1.2M from CincyTech and Radical Investments. Loud Capital, Danmar Capital, Wilson Sonsini Investment Company, and angel investors also participated in the round.

11/16: Missoula, Montana-based Orbital Shift, a provider of employee scheduling and communication software, raised a $1.25M Series A from Next Frontier, with participation from Frontier Angels and several angel investors.

11/16: Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Tenstreet, a provider of driver recruiting and workflow management software for the trucking and transportation industry, has received a investment from Spectrum Equity, a Boston-based growth equity firm. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

11/17: Maple Grove, Minnesota-based Inspire Medical Systems, makers of medical devices that treat sleep apnea, raised $37.5M from Amazak Health, with participation from OrbiMed Advisors and Medtronic.

11/18: Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based Perforce Software, a source code management company, acquired Mason, Ohio-based Seapine Software, an app lifecycle management provider.

11/23: Fishers, Indiana-based Bluebridge, a SaaS platform for churches, tourism organizations and employers, sold its tourism and church units in two separate transactions totaling $8 million, according to Fortune. Echurch purchased the church business and Simpleview bought the tourism unit.

11/24: Grand Rapids-based Tetra Discovery Partners, a pharmaceutical drug development company developing medicines for Alzheimer's Disease, Traumatic Brain Injury, Fragile X and schizophrenia, raised a $5M Series A from Apjohn Group and Grand Angels, with participations from Dolby Family Ventures, and the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation.
