Nintendo is hosting live "escape room" events based on the Legend of Zelda video game series in cities across the country, and it's making a stop in Chicago next year.
Nintendo is working with escape-room designer SCRAP on the event, which it has named "Defenders of the Triforce." It's different than a traditional escape room (you're not locked inside a room), and multiple teams will work in the event space and all participate at the same time. Teams are made of six people, and it will be an event "designed for puzzle fans and fans of the Zelda franchise," the event's website reads.
Defenders of the Triforce will travel to eight cities, including Chicago.

Nintendo announced the puzzle escape games will kick off January 31 in San Francisco. It will then head to Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago and New York. The exact Chicago date is not yet announced.
Players will "interact with classic items and characters" from the Zelda series, and players will have to solve puzzles to move forward in the event, just like in The Legend of Zelda games, the company said.
