Software company Pivotal will relocate its Atlanta office to Ponce City Market as part of a broader expansion.
The San Francisco-based firm plans to add about 100 jobs in Atlanta over the next few months, Pivotal confirmed. The company's Atlanta hub, currently located in Buckhead, is looking to hire engineers, designers, product managers and sales reps.
Pivotal helps Fortune 500 companies build software applications (mobile, web, etc.) faster and easier. The firm targets clients in the financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, manufacturing and automotive industries, including Ford Motor Co., Comcast, Allstate General Electric and Mercedes-Benz.
In February, Pivotal will relocate and expand at Industrious, a co-working space in Ponce City Market, a $200 million mixed-use development, home to Twitter, MailChimp and other tech companies.
Chicago-based Industrious has about 40,000 square feet of co-working space spread across Ponce City Market and the Silhouette building in Midtown.
Both locations are fully occupied, which has led to Industrious planning an additional 24,000-square-foot expansion at Ponce City Market. Pivotal is said to be taking about 10,000 square feet in Industrious’ newly expanded space on the seventh floor.
Atlanta is Industrious’ largest market in terms of square footage, and its fastest-growing. The company operates co-working hubs in 10 cities.
The majority of Industrious’ clients are established businesses who use the space as their Atlanta offices, instead of building out space in an office tower.
“Companies are not choosing Industrious as swing space, they are choosing it because that’s where they want to base their company,” CEO Jamie Hodari told Atlanta Business Chronicle earlier this year.
Businesses realize employee engagement and happiness is the key to attracting and retaining great talent, Hodari said. “Industrious’ value proposition is in creating the unique workspaces and culture to drive that engagement and happiness,” he said.
