The Events & Workshops to Attend During General Assembly's Made in Chicago Week



In November, General Assembly, an education company that hosts immersive classes in design, marketing, technology, and data in a number of cities throughout the U.S., is holding Made in Chicago Week, an event series highlighting local entrepreneurs, executives, experts, and educators that are impacting a handful of industries, from media to manufacturing.

The series takes place from 11/3 - 11/11 at a variety of venues and we've singled out several events and workshops that we're most excited for. You can check out the complete schedule here.

EVENTS:

The Future of Media + Technology Thursday, November 3rd, 6-8pm @ Havas Worldwide Chicago, 36 E. Grand Ave. Featuring Alex Niemczewski, CEO with BallotReady, Ellen Mayer, Community Manager at Hearken, and our own Karis Hustad, this panel will will explore the future of journalism and content creation, as well as how technology has opened the door to a world of new voices in media. [RSVP]

Chicago Eats: A Conversation with Local Legends + Food Entrepreneurs Wednesday, November 9th, 6-8pm @ The Hatchery, 320 N. Damen Ave. With Bill Kim, Chef Partner of urbanbelly Restaurants, Eric Mansavage, Executive Chef of Farmhouse Restaurants, Charlie McKenna, Executive Chef at Lillie’s Q, and David Manilow, Creator & Executive Producer of Check, Please!, this panel will address the entrepreneurial challenges experienced while successfully navigating the food and restaurant industries. The discussion will also focus on emerging trends within their industry, including how chefs are exploring the world of consumer packaged goods. [RSVP]

Makers, Murals, Screenprinters, Oh My! Thursday, November 10th, 6-8pm @ General Assembly Chicago, 444 N. Wabash Ave. Featuring Christen Carter, the President & Owner of Busy Beaver Button Co, Alex Fuller, SVP Design Director at Leo Burnett, Jillian Fisher, Director of Mobile Products with Giphy, and more Chicago’s top creators in art, design and tech will come together to share their experiences, advice, and insights, as well as why Chicago's the ideal city for makers.
