Monday

ABI Chicago is hosting a Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing viewing party at Google. The evening will feature some local women who attended the conference, as well as a video chat with Dr. Latanya Sweeney, Professor of Government and Technology in Residence at Harvard University. Tuesday

Branch is hosting Mobile Growth Chicago, a paneling event in which where guests will get to hear from experts in their field on their experiences in growth, retention and engagement in mobile app development. They'll talk about what works and what doesn't work, and at the end of the night there will be time for meeting and networking. For more information, click here.

Wednesday

The Lucey Fund is hosting a Q&A session with Ian Lucey, CEO of the early stage investment firm Lucey Fund. The event will consist of a Q&A sandwiched between networking opportunities before and after the main event. For more information, click here.

CodePen Chicago is hosting a Halloween-themed show and tell style-meetup in which attendees are encourage to share a Halloween-themed pen they've developed. For more information, click here.

Thursday

The Network of Entrepreneurial Women is hosting a super-heroine potluck. The event will include super-heroine themed networking games and plenty of opportunities for attendees to connect with like-minded businesswoman. Also on Thursday will be an event hosted by the Minority Business Development Agency -- Inclusive Innovation in Action. The afternoon will include conversations led by top innovators and policy makers discussing their personal experiences in diversifying innovation, updates on grant opportunities and a chance to network with policy officials, corporate leaders and industry professionals. Friday

8th Light is hosting a panel that will focus on ORM - object relational mapping. The four panelists who are lined up to speak will discuss their experiences, including the successes and difficulties, that they've come across while using an ORM in their application. Friday's MATTER Workshop will involve a discussion on the best methods and approaches to pitching a startup to investors. The event will feature two investors from Pritzker Group Venture Capital who will explain their experiences in building startups, as well as what their current experience has shown them about what investors are looking for in a startup pitch.
