Chicago Is Apparently the Number 1 City For 'Hermits'

If Netflix and Chill describes your typical Saturday night, you're not alone in Chicago. According to a new study, Chicago is apparently the best city for folks who'd rather stay in than go out, thanks to the city's access to GrubHub, booze delivery, and fast internet.

According to national real estate site Estately, Chicago is the No. 1 city for "urban hermits," i.e. people who live in the city but prefer to hunker down in the comfort of their own home. Estately looked at the 100 largest US cities and rated them on things like housing costs, internet speeds, access to things like GrubHub and on-demand alcohol delivery, and the percentage of people who work from home.

Chicago scored highly on its GrubHub and booze delivery access (GrubHub is based in Chicago, after all, and 5 national alcohol delivery companies operate here), as well as the city's relatively affordable housing compared to other cities.

Rounding out the top five cities for urban hermits were Austin, DC, San Francisco and Denver.

Honolulu was the worst city for hermits due to its lack of GrubHub and on-demand alcohol, and also the fact that it's freaking Honolulu. Come on, you should be outside.

So if you're a homebody in Chicago, you're in good hands. Fire up the Netflix and put in your drizly orders. We won't judge.
