Looking for a Chicago apartment this fall? A new interactive map from rent search website Zumper can show you where you'll find a deal, and where you might end up paying a premium.
Zumper found that the median 1-bedroom apartment in Chicago is $1,750, which actually decreased 1.7% from last month. Two bedrooms, however, jumped 3.6% to $2,430. Chicago was the 10th most expensive city to rent in the US, according to Zumper, just behind Honolulu, Miami, and LA.
The priciest 1-bedroom rents in Chicago can be found in River North and the West Loop, which tied for the most expensive neighborhood at a median rent price of $2,100. The next most expensive neighborhoods were the Loop ($2,070), Streeterville ($2,060), and Greektown ($2,050).
If you're looking for a deal, Zumper recommends looking at Little Village ($900), Irving Park ($1,050), and Humboldt Park ($1,050), which all have median 1-bedroom rents below $1,100.
