Monday

The Illinois Science Council is hosting Science Happy Hour, an event where science-loving people can participate in science-themed trivia at Lagunitas Brewing Company. Find out more here.

The Chicago Urban League Entrepreneurship Center and the University of Chicago Polsky Exchange is hosting TechAroundTown: Women in Tech, a conversation on women in technology. The event will feature panelists from across the technology sector, including investors, founders, corporate and organization leaders. Find out more here.

At General Assembly's event Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained: How to Get Where You Want to Go, five local creatives and entrepreneurs will share their experience of turning their passion into a career. Technori, the third largest monthly startup event in the U.S. is hosting an event that will feature some of the top startups in Chicago focused on the future of education. Startup Angels is hosting the first start up investors workshop, a startup 101 for Chicago's next generation of angels. This two day workshop was designed by two experienced investors and will feature the founder and CEO of Crate and Barrel, Gordon Segal, as a guest speaker.

Wednesday

Hosted by Chicago Inno and presented by National Foodworks, Food Inno is an event that brings food and innovation into one setting. The event will feature some of Chicago's top innovators in the Chicago food scene, from the growers to the deliverers, and will feature startups coming up with ways to improve healthy cooking. Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) and General Assembly are hosting a fireside chat event for young entrepreneurs in the Chicago area. Speakers will discuss everything from how they got to where they are to current projects they are working on, and they will have advice to give young entrepreneurs in attendance. Find out more here.

Coalition: Energy is hosting a presentation and round table discussion with coffee and bagels on the best practices in pitching an energy startup to a potential investor. The discussion, lead by experts and entrepreneurs, will focus on common mistakes made in pitches and how to avoid making them. Reynolds Journalism Institute and hosted by TechNexus, the next Collab/Space Chicago 2016 workshop will focus on Virtual Reality-related startups and how Virtual Reality has found itself a place in the media space. Eight startups or media company projects will be chosen and presented, after which the floor will open up for discussion. The event will explore the ways in which these Virtual Reality-related start ups and media projects can thrive as a business.
