Last December, we held our second annual 50 on Fire, an awards show celebrating the top 50 Chicago innovators across multiple industries. Prior to the event, we held a photo-shoot with the 150 finalists and revealed the winners via an action-packed, 15-minute video. Relive it below.
Well, that was awesome, right? Agreed. And that’s why we’re coming back for more. On November 16 (venue and tickets launching soon!), we’ll be hosting the third annual 50 on Fire. We’re opening nominations and we NEED you to tell us about the individuals and companies that are heating up Chicago.
As a quick reminder, 50 on Fire is a celebration of innovators, big and small, people and organizations, across multiple categories. Though Chicago Inno primarily covers the city’s thriving tech, education, and startup communities, we understand that these sectors don’t have an exclusiveness on innovation. The unbelievably talented graphic designer at your agency is innovative. The enterprise company that helps fuel your small business is innovative. The non-profit you donate to is innovative. Your favorite food truck is innovative. Innovation is everywhere in Chicago, help us find it so that we can award it!

Nomination Process: Do you know an organization or individual that’s heating up Chicago? Tell us! Nominations are open now and will close September 11. The 9 categories are:
B2B B2C Marketing/Advertising/Design/Development Civic Education Lifestyle (Fashion, Food, Fitness, and More) Health/Welness Supporters* Let Chicago Inno Decide (Not sure where you fit? Don’t let that stop you).
*This includes anyone that’s supporting the ecosystem, such as accelerators, co-working spaces, PR firms, venture capitalists, mentors, media, and more.
Selection Process: After the nominations close, a panel of Chicago Inno representatives will cull through the submissions to select 150 finalists across the 5 categories. These finalists will be notified, featured on the site, and asked to participate in an exclusive photo shoot. From there, a panel of judges, comprised of industry-specific community leaders and influencers, will vote for the 50 winners.
Winners Announcement & Celebration: Winners will be revealed live at 50 on Fire in a high-octane video during the event. You can check out last year’s video above or here.
