G2 Crowd
Chicago startup G2 Crowd, a platform for software reviews, announced it has named Meagen Eisenberg to its board of directors. Eisenberg is the CMO of MongoDB. Last year G2 Crowd raised $30M from Accel and LinkedIn.
Gogo
Gogo, the Chicago-based in-flight WiFi provider, announced that Michael Small is stepping down as CEO and will be replaced by Oakleigh Thorne, a Gogo board member and the company's largest investor. Thorne was previously the CEO of eCollege.com.
ParkWhiz
Chicago on-demand parking startup ParkWhiz has a new CEO. The company announced that it has appointed Yona Shtern as its next chief executive. He replaces Aashish Dalal, ParkWhiz’s founder, who will transition to chairman of the company’s board. Shtern has been ParkWhiz’s chairman for the past year. He was previously the co-founder and CEO of Beyond the Rack, an e-commerce fashion company based in Montreal.
Pre Brands
Pre Brands, a Chicago-based startup that sources, packages and distributes grass-fed beef, has hired Nicole Schumacher as its new chief marketing officer. Schumacher, who previously worked at companies like Kraft Foods, Boca Foods and Saks, Inc., will lead Pre’s marketing efforts.
SMS Assist
SMS Assist, maker of a cloud-based property management platform and one of Chicago's tech "unicorns" valued at $1 billion, has hired Peter Commons, a longtime Amazon executive, to be its chief product officer. He was most recently the director of global product and technology for Amazon Fresh, Amazon’s grocery delivery unit. Commons has relocated from Seattle to Chicago.
Grubhub
Grubhub has named Sam Hall as its next chief product officer. Hall most recently served as the chief product and technology officer at ClassPass, and before that spent nearly 10 years at Amazon.
