A Chicago startup that helps companies utilize Microsoft Azure public cloud services landed a new round of funding to grow its business.
Nerdio announced Tuesday that it raised an $8 million Series A round led by Chicago VC firm MK Capital. The startup's CEO and co-founder Vadim Vladimirskiy, along with its CRO Joseph Landes, also invested in the round.
Nerdio was founded in 2016 and set out to help managed services providers (MSPs) build cloud practices in Microsoft Azure. The startup works with IT services companies who want to help their small- and medium-sized customers adopt the public cloud.
Over the last two years the startup has seen triple-digit growth year-over-year in both its number of customers and revenue, Vladimirskiy said in an interview.
"Our vision is to become the platform that any small business that wants to use the public cloud does so through the Nerdio platform," he said.
Nerdio has grown to around 40 employees and expects to continue hiring in 2020, Vladimirskiy said.
Prior to Nerdio, Vladimirskiy founded Adar, an IT services company that provided data storage, network security and other services. The company also raised money from MK Capital, landing $2.4 million in 2014.
Nerdio said it will use the new funding for its international expansion and to roll out new products.
