Midwest Report: All of the Region's Major Tech Fundings, M&As, and IPOs in April



While we're primarily focused on Chicago's innovation economy, we also have our eyes on all of the startup and tech activity happening throughout the entire Midwest. Here are the major tech fundings, acquisitions, mergers, moves and IPOs that went down in the region in April. See all Midwest Reports here

4/1: Columbus, Ohio-based Advocate Solutions, a provider of strategic advisory, project and risk management services to state and local governments, has been recapitalized by TZP Growth Partners

4/6: Ann Arbor-based Groundspeed Analytics, a provider of commercial insurance data automation solutions, raised a $2 million Series A from ManchesterStory, with participation from Michigan Angel Fund and Tappan Hill Ventures.

4/13: Lincoln, Nebraska-based Ink Labs, a connected printing network for college campuses, raised $6.65 million in seed funding from VTF Capital, Base Ventures, G-Bar Ventures, Nelnet, IT-Farm and Invest Nebraska.

4/14: Minneapolis-based Sansoro Health, a startup that makes it easy to exchange EMR data in real-time between digital health applications and EMRs, raised a $5.2 million Series A from Bain Capital Ventures.

4/18: St. Louis-based PowerPost, a SaaS content marketing platform, raised $2 million in funding from Arsenal Capital Management.

4/19: Eagan, Minnesota-based ConvergeOne, a technology company, has acquired New York-based Rockefeller Group Technology Solutions, a provider of telecom and data services to corporate customers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

4/24: Minnesota-based private equity and distressed debt firm Va?rde Partners announced that it will double its 30-person Asia-Pacific headcount over the next five years.

4/25: Cincinnati-based Doc Halo, a provider of real-time clinical communication solutions, raised a $11 million Series A from Bain Capital Ventures, with participation from Refinery Ventures.

4/27 St. Louis-based Deck Commerce, a SaaS e-commerce operations platform, raised $2 million in VC funding from Arsenal Capital Management.

4/29: Rochester, Minnesota-based Ambient Clinical Analytics, a maker of powerful healthcare data assimilation, communication, and analytics based decision support tools, raised a $5.4 million Series A from Waterline Ventures and Bluestem Capital, with participation from Social Capital.

4/29: Omaha, Nebraska-based West Corp (Nasdaq:WSTC), a telephone conferencing service provider, is in advanced talks to be acquired by private equity firm Apollo Global Management, according to Reuters.
