PrintWithMe
Deal: $800,000
Investors: The round was led by Network Ventures with participation from M25 Group, New Stack Ventures, Little Engine Ventures and other investors.
What they do: PrintWithMe is a Chicago startup that's building a network of mobile print stations in public spaces so you can print on the go. The company sets up print/scan/copy/fax stations in places like coffee shops, residential buildings, college campuses, co-working spaces and hotels. Users just email their attachments to the printer's email address, and then pay via the PrintWithMe site. PrintWithMe costs $0.19 for a black and white copy and $0.39 for color. Co-working spaces can make the service available to their members for $29 per month.
Other details: PrintWithMe is in roughly 20 cities across the US, and it plans to use the funding to continue expanding throughout the country. The startup says its stations have been installed in over 120 locations, reaching 20,000 customers. Locations include 1871, Bow Truss Coffee, Chicago Bagel Authority and the Lincoln Property Company.
"PrintWithMe is a more convenient and cost-effective option than printer ownership for most consumers and remote workers," Jonathan Treble, founder of PrintWithMe, said in a statement. "We see a big opportunity to leverage technology to turn printers into a shareable asset and bring print/scan/copy/fax capabilities to where people live and work."
