New Money: 4C Insights Raises $26M to Revolutionize Second Screen Advertising

4C Insights

Deal: $26M Series C

Investors: The round was led by Kayne Partners, the growth private equity group of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P. Previous backers Jump Capital and Prime Ventures participated in the round, as well.

What they do: 4C, a data science and media technology company, specializes in second screen analytics, helping brands measure, monitor, and execute their campaigns across a variety of devices and mediums, including phones, tablets, TV, radio, and more. The company also provides advertising and content analytics leveraging its Teletrax global TV monitoring network. In August, 2015, 4C acquired Teletrax, a Netherlands-based television analytics firm, to help match television ads up with social media ads in order to bolster the marketing impact on both screens.

Other details: According to the company, 4C plans to use the funds to deepen its market presence through geographic and product expansion. The 5-year-old startup will also add technical talent and sales resources.

To date, 4C has raised nearly $38M in venture funding. As part of this latest round of financing, 4C has added Leon Chen, Vice President with Kayne Partners, to its board of directors.

Explained CEO Lance Neuhauser in a release, "Brands need data science and media technology to capitalize on multi-screen convergence. We have a proven infrastructure to ingest and model data along with a robust SaaS platform to activate it across channels and screens. We expect strong growth through global expansion as we put our solutions in the hands of more brands, agencies and media owners."

Outside of the funding, 4C has made other significant moves in 2016, including hired Anupam Gupta as Chief Product Officer and Kevin Kearns as Chief Revenue Officer.

4C Insights is headquartered in the Loop at 1 East Wacker.
