amSTATZ Raises $1.35M to Give Fitness Trainers Technology to Connect with Clients



Chicago-based fitness technology company amSTATZ announced last week that is has raised $1.35 million and has a deal to be the American Council on Exercise's go-to business management tool.

Launched in 2012, amSTATZ is a cloud-based software app that allows fitness trainers and studios to manage scheduling, accept payments, and track clients' progress from a computer or mobile device. Athletes sign up for amSTATZ for free, create a profile, find available fitness trainers, and pay for for an appointment through the online portal.

The funding round, which was led by Launch Capital, LionBird and Indiana Innovation Fund, will help trainers communicate with clients prior to and following a session, according to Built in Chicago.

And with the partnership with the American Council on Exercise, ACE certified professionals will receive the first month of amSTATZ for free, a 15 percent off discount for life, and free coaching and technical support, amSTATZ said.

amSTATZ also recently partner with DePaul University to give its platform to the school's students and trainers. In March, the company told Built in Chicago that it had 4,000 users and 1,000 paying subscribers.
