UPDATE: Voting for the Inno Madness semifinals was reopened on April 13 due to an editorial error.
And then there were four.
After four rounds of voting, four companies are left standing in this year's Inno Madness in Chicago. Before we decide who makes the finals, let's see how the last round shook out.
With 4,273 total responses in Round 4, no match was decided by more than 165 votes, with Region D's #13 Out of Office, a Chicago-based travel app, pulling off the biggest blowout after securing the most votes for the second round in a row. The travel app that launched in August 2021 from a pair of early Trunk Club employees and raised $3.5 million in new seed funding in 2022 will take on #15 Stigma, a mental health app that is one of two startups remaining that Chicago venture capital firm LongJump invested in last year, to see who goes to the finals.
On the other end of the bracket, fast-growing cybersecurity startup #11 Oak9 came out victorious in Region A after narrowly defeating #12 BriteCo with 2,163 votes to 2,110. The cybersecurity startup that raised $5.9 million in 2021 will take on Science on Call, a Chicago startup founded in 2020 that offers a subsscription-based tech support platform for restaurants, for a spot in the finals.
