A cybersecurity company aiming to be a key player in Charlotte's technology landscape has opened its headquarters here.

Stratascale's headquarters is in One Independence Center, at 101 N. Tryon St. in uptown Charlotte. The company, a subsidiary of global IT solutions provider SHI International Corp., opened the 19,000-square-foot office on Sept. 12. It sees the space as an opportunity to be closer to its local clients and to be at the center of the city's growing technology scene.

"When we envisioned our headquarters, we pictured a dynamic and vibrant space where our clients, partners, and team members could connect and cultivate ideas," said David Olzak, senior vice president at Stratascale. "It’s exciting to see our vision come to life and to have the opportunity to be a driving force for cybersecurity in Charlotte."

Stratascale previously leveraged parent company SHI's headquarters in Austin, Texas, for meetings and activities before placing its base in Charlotte, a company spokesperson told CBJ.

Stratascale has about 194 employees, with 25 working at its new headquarters. About 50 more workers will move into the space by year end. The Charlotte office can fit up to 100 employees, and Stratascale intends to fill that capacity, the spokesperson said.

Founded in 2020, Stratascale helps enterprise leaders solve security challenges and increase business resiliency. The company's services strategically integrate to form robust solutions that solve complex, multi-domain problems and set the stage for modern security operations managed services.

It partnered with UNC Charlotte's College of Computing and Informatics to help it play a significant role in cultivating young tech talent in the region.

"Their addition to our tech ecosystem will help develop the next generation of tech talent and support future growth in the cybersecurity industry," said Dr. Bojan Cukic, dean and professor of the university's CCI.

Stratascale's Charlotte headquarters features an executive briefing center for interactive client meetings, a production studio for storytelling, collaborative meeting rooms and a town hall space for company broadcasts. The space also includes a cybersecurity fusion center for 24/7 security operations.

"This new space is designed to enhance collaboration, fostering stronger connections with our clients and community while driving innovation in cybersecurity," said Thai Lee, CEO and president at SHI.
