A product development shop with operations in Charlotte and Raleigh has filed a second federal lawsuit, this time over a sports betting platform.

According to the new lawsuit, Dualboot assisted SquareAction with the design and development of its digital platform for sports betting. But SquareAction stopped paying invoices last year, and currently owes nearly $157,000, according to the lawsuit.

Attempts to reach SquareAction were unsuccessful and it did not yet have an attorney listed in the case.

Dualboot said there were repeated affirmations to pay the bill, referencing an email that said, “I stand behind it … you will be paid in full.” But the bills kept piling up, plus interest, leading Dualboot to file a lawsuit March 15 through attorney Eric Spengler of Spengler & Agans PLLC.

Spengler declined to comment on the case.

Matthew Christopher Delia, the founder of SquareAction, is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit.

The litigation comes as Dualboot continues to work through its case against Mossa Holdings, which it is suing for half a million dollars in a case surrounding a statistics tracking app for golfers.

In that case, similar to the lawsuit filed against SquareAction, Dualboot claims it is owed hundreds of thousands of dollars for work it did on the app.

Mossa, based in Texas, hasn’t answered the lawsuit, and it recently filed to have those deadlines extended “to allow time to secure legal counsel and prepare a response.”

Dualboot splits its operation between Charlotte and Raleigh, according to its LinkedIn profile.
